Will speaks to this in the lowest common denominator. He chooses not to describe his “hardness” via complex analogies, anecdotes or metaphors, but chooses to speak to the lowest common denominator. The most visceral of items we’ve experienced from back to humanities genesis. Things such as erections and excrement are not only part of our society, but part of our core physical instincts.
The repetitive chorus speaks as an internal monologue to Mr. Am. “You can go hard or you can go home,” is his mantra, constantly reminding himself to that in order to maintain his status he must push himself to reach new levels of “hardness” or he may no longer be T.H.E.
